- General rules
Papers must be sent in a .doc file, full-paged, without left or right indentations, with the main text and footnotes justified, line spacing 1.15, Times New Roman font, main text dimensions 12, footnotes dimensions 10. The paper must be divided into paragraphs, with titles in italic, that must be numerated progressively and eventually divided into subparagraphs. At the beginning of each paragraph indentation is not required, instead of after a full stop and a new paragraph is required an indentation on the left of o.3 cm (first-line indentation).
Papers of Essays section, that can’t be lower than 40.000 characters (spaces included), must include an abstract in Italian and English (maximum 400 characters spaces included) and 3 keywords in Italian and in English.
It’s possible to insert images (.jpeg) and graphs and tables (excel). Images and tables will be identified with a progressive numeration (related to their position in the paper: fig. 1, fig. 2 etc.). Images and tables must be attached separately from the papers.
Uppercase and bold type are not allowed.
- Journal Articles:
In case of essays, in the first quote you have to indicate the initial of first name and the full surname of the author in Small Caps, the title in Italic, the name of the Journal in Italic, with the usual abbreviation preceded by “in”, and followed by the number (Arabic) of the Journal, the year of edition (between brackets), the page number (preceded by p. or pp.) with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings.

In the subsequent repetition, you have to indicate only the full surname of the author (without the initial of the first name), the title eventually abbreviated, “cit.”, the page number. In case of footnotes immediately successive you have to use “Ibidem” in Italic (when title and page number are the same) or “Ivi” in Roman type, followed by the number of the page (when the title is the same but pages are different).

In case of reviews, in the first quote you have to put “rec. di” before the indication of the reviewed work following the parameters at point 2 (monographies), the name of the journal in Italic, as the usual abbreviation, preceded by “in”, and followed by the number (Arabic) of the journal, the year of edition (between brackets), the page number with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings.
In the subsequent repetition, you have to quote “rec.”, indicating the reviewed work with “cit.”, and the page number.
In the subsequent repetition these reviews could be indicated as an only contribution, following the parameters at point 2 (monographies).
In the first quote the following most known journals can be indicated with the usual abbreviation:

- Monographies:
In the first quote, you have to indicate the initial of first name and the full surname of the author in Small Caps, the title in Italic (with the possible number of edition on the top, in Roman type), the publishing company, place and year of edition, the page number (preceded by p. or pp.) with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings.

- Collections of studies of different authors or collections of essays of the same author:
In the first quote, you have to indicate the initial of first name and the full surname of the author in Small Caps, the title in Italic, the title of the review in Italic preceded by “in A.a. V.v.”, the initials of first name and the full surname of the curator/director in Romanic type preceded by “cur./dir.”, if necessary, the number of the volume in Roman numeral, the publishing company, place and year of edition, the page number (preceded by p. or pp.) with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings.

In the first quote, you have to indicate the initial of first name and the full surname of the author in Small Caps, the title in Italic, the title of the entry in Italic between angle brackets, preceded by “s.v.”, the usual abbreviation of the volume preceded by “in”, if necessary, the number of the volume in Roman numeral, the publishing company, place and year of edition, the page number (preceded by p. or pp.) with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings.

- Quotations:
In the body text, short sentences or words in foreign or ancient languages must be written in Italic type; when it’s quoted a medium length quote (maximum two lines) it must be written in Roman type between quotation marks («…»). When in the body text it’s quoted a longer quote, the quotation must be written in Roman type, character dimension: 10, separating it with one line up and down in relation to the text. Footnote reference must be written always at the end of the quotation.
In the body text and in footnotes quotes must be written in Italic style between angle brackets «». The little number that refers to the footnote must be placed before the possible punctuation.
- Archival sources:
In case of archival sources (handwritten or printed) you have to indicate the full name of the archive, eventually followed, in the first quote, by the usual abbreviation – Archivio di Stato di Napoli (= ASNa) – and then the Archival collection in Italic type (Ministero di Grazia e giustizia), number of the bundle of documents in Italic type (f. 5144), folder (f. 38), page number and, eventually, a description of the document (title and/or details) in Italic type. In the subsequent repetitions you can indicate the abbreviated description of the document in Italic followed by “cit.”.
- Jurisprudence:
In the first quote, you have to indicate the Court or Tribunal, date and number of the decision, the journal or the collection in which it is published, page or column number with, eventually, “s.” for following or “ss.” for followings, and the possible mention of the note of comment (that may also be quoted autonomously).
